In a record-breaking display of spin bowling discipline, Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s young leg-spinner Suyash Sharma etched his name into IPL history on Monday night, becoming the first spinner ever to deliver 20 dot balls in a single IPL spell.
RCB demolished Delhi Capitals by nine wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi in Match 39 of IPL 2026, bowling out the hosts for just 75, the lowest team score of the season.
While pacers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood grabbed the headlines with a combined seven wickets inside the powerplay, it was Suyash Sharma’s controlled spin bowling in the middle overs that proved equally suffocating.

Sharma bowled four overs for figures of 1/7 and delivered a remarkable 20 dot balls, keeping the middle and lower order completely tied down alongside Krunal Pandya, who chipped in with 1/9.
The pressure created by this iron-tight bowling never lifted, and Delhi, who had already been reduced to 13/6 in the powerplay, the lowest powerplay score in IPL history, crumbled to 75 all out in 16.3 overs.
The chase was a formality, with Devdutt Padikkal (34*), Jacob Bethell (20), and Virat Kohli (23*) wrapping it up in just 6.3 overs.
The 22-year-old Delhi-born leggie, who played a pivotal role in RCB’s maiden IPL title triumph last season, continues to grow as one of Indian cricket’s most exciting spinning prospects.
