Women’s Asia Cup 2026 Points Table, Rankings & Standings (Aug 31)

The Women’s Asia Cup 2026 gets under way on August 28 in Dubai, so there is no live points table yet. All eight teams begin level on zero points, with the table taking shape only once the group stage starts.

Until then, the clearest guide to form is the last edition. In 2024, Sri Lanka and India topped their groups unbeaten before Sri Lanka won their maiden title, and much of this year’s field carries that record into the tournament.

In this article, we cover the pre-season table, the 2024 standings, each team’s last-edition form, the points system, and qualification.

Led by Chamari Athapaththu, they combined the tournament’s best group net run rate with knockout composure, and they arrive in Dubai as the side to beat.

The 2024 campaign ended in disappointment, though, as they fell to Sri Lanka in the final. Still the most decorated team in the competition, they will want to reclaim top spot this year.

3. Bangladesh (BAN)

Bangladesh finished second in Group B behind Sri Lanka, with two wins from three and a strong net run rate securing a semi-final place.

There, they ran into an in-form India and bowed out. The 2018 champions retain a settled, experienced core and will again fancy their chances of reaching the last four.

4. Pakistan (PAK)

Still waiting on a first Asia Cup crown, they return with Fatima Sana restored as captain and will target another deep run out of Group A.

5. Thailand (THA)

3rd, Group B21-2-0.858

Thailand placed third in Group B in 2024, claiming one win from their three matches. They remain one of Asia’s more established associate sides and reached Dubai through the Premier Cup qualifiers.

Drawn in a demanding Group A this time, they will aim to be competitive against the leading teams and build on that experience.

6. UAE (UAE)

PositionPointsRecord (W-L)NRR
4th, Group A00-3-2.780

The UAE endured a difficult 2024, losing all three group games to finish bottom of Group A. As hosts in 2026, and armed with home familiarity at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, they will be looking for a marked improvement.

A first Asia Cup win would be a realistic and worthwhile marker of progress.

7. Hong Kong, China (HK)

Hong Kong (China) did not feature in the 2024 Women’s Asia Cup, so they carry no last-edition record into this year. They earned their place in 2026 by topping their group in the Premier Cup qualifiers.

This is a clear step up in standard, and simply competing with the established sides would represent solid progress.

8. Indonesia (INA)

Indonesia are among the newest names at this level and did not take part in 2024, so they have no prior points-table record here. They qualified through the Premier Cup with a dominant campaign.

Group B will be a stern examination, but reaching Dubai is already a notable milestone for the country’s women’s game.

Women’s Asia Cup 2026 Points System

The group stage uses a standard T20 points model, where results convert to points and net run rate separates teams that finish level. The table below sets out how points are awarded.

ResultPoints Awarded

Tie or No Result1
Loss0

When two teams finish on equal points, net run rate is used to decide their order in the group.

Net Run Rate Analysis

In four-team groups where sides can finish level on points, net run rate often becomes the deciding factor for a semi-final place. The 2024 tables showed how valuable it can be, with India and Sri Lanka not only winning their groups but posting the two highest net run rates in the competition.

For 2026, that lesson matters most in the middle of each group, where a single heavy defeat can undo an otherwise even record. Teams chasing modest totals will look to knock them off quickly, and those batting first will try to post commanding scores, since the margin of victory could ultimately separate a semi-finalist from an early exit.

Conclusion: India And Sri Lanka Have Dominated Previous Points Table!

With the tournament yet to begin, the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 points table is a clean slate, every team on zero and everything still to play for from August 28. The real standings will only take shape once the group stage is underway.

Until then, the 2024 results are the best guide, and they point to Sri Lanka and India as the early benchmarks, with Pakistan and Bangladesh pushing for the semi-finals behind them.

Keep this page handy, because once the first ball is bowled in Dubai, the numbers will start to move quickly.
