Dubai, December 12, 2025 – Teenage sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi announced his arrival on the international stage with a breathtaking 171 off just 95 balls as India posted a commanding 332/3 against UAE in the opening match of the Under-19 Asia Cup at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai on Thursday.

The 14-year-old left-hander demolished the UAE bowling attack with 14 towering sixes and 9 boundaries in a knock that will be remembered for years to come.

Early Setback Turned Into Dominance

After the UAE won the toss and elected to field, India got off to a shaky start with skipper Ayush Mhatre departing for just 4 runs.

However, Suryavanshi took control with aggressive intent, bringing up his century in just 56 balls before reaching 150 in 83 deliveries.

Record-Breaking Partnership

Suryavanshi found an able partner in Aaron George, stitching together a match-defining 212-run partnership for the second wicket.

George contributed 69 runs off 73 balls, allowing Suryavanshi to play his natural, aggressive game and completely demoralize the UAE bowling attack.

India Builds a Massive Total

After Suryavanshi’s dismissal in the 33rd over, Vihaan Malhotra and Vedant Trivedi continued the momentum with an unbroken 67-run partnership, propelling India past 330. The UAE bowlers struggled throughout, with none able to stem the flow of runs.

This career-best List A score further cements Suryavanshi’s reputation as one of cricket’s most exciting young talents. The teenager already holds the record for the fastest Youth ODI century in 52 balls against England and remains the youngest centurion in the Youth ODI format.

As India begins its campaign to reclaim the U19 Asia Cup title, Suryavanshi’s explosive form sends a clear warning to rivals across the continent. With the marquee clash against Pakistan scheduled on December 15, the young left-hander has already staked his claim as the tournament’s player to watch.
