Smriti Mandhana produced a record-shattering knock of 124 off 64 balls as India Women thrashed Hong Kong Women by 137 runs in Dubai on Thursday, sealing their spot in the semifinals of the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026.
Batting first, India posted 193/5, riding on a 74-run opening stand with Shafali Verma, who made 28. Mandhana raced to fifty in 40 balls before exploding to a hundred in just 57 balls. She finished with 14 fours and seven sixes before being run out in the final over.
The innings broke Chamari Athapaththu’s 119 not out as the highest individual score in Women’s T20 Asia Cup history. It is also now the highest T20I score by an Indian batter, eclipsing Mandhana’s own 112 against England in 2025.
The century also made her the first Indian to score more than one Women’s T20I hundred, and only the third Indian overall after Harmanpreet Kaur. More significantly, it was her 18th century in women’s international cricket, a new world record, moving past Meg Lanning and Laura Wolvaardt, who share 17 each.
In reply, Hong Kong were bowled out for just 56, with Deepti Sharma claiming 3/9. Nandani Sharma, Prema Rawat and Shree Charani picked up two wickets apiece as India cruised to a dominant win.
