In a welcome development for cricket fans across Pakistan, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi has confirmed that spectators will be allowed to attend the Pakistan Super League 2026 final.
Naqvi, who also serves as Pakistan’s Interior Minister, confirmed that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved the decision. Sharing the update on social media, Naqvi stated: “I requested Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to allow spectators in the stadiums. He emphasised that austerity measures are currently in place across Pakistan, but on the request of franchise owners, he has graciously approved the presence of fans for the PSL 11 Final.”
The final will be held at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on May 3, the first match of the season to feature spectators.
The season began under strict closed-door conditions, with fans barred from stadiums as the government dealt with soaring fuel costs linked to the ongoing conflict in Iran. As part of wider austerity measures, host venues were reduced from six to just two, Karachi and Lahore.
On the field, Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans, and Islamabad United have secured playoff spots, while first-timers Hyderabad Kingsmen claimed the fourth berth. Defending champions Lahore Qalandars have been knocked out.
Ticket sale details are yet to be announced by the PCB.
