Mitchell Marsh delivered a breathtaking display of power hitting on Thursday evening as he smashed the fastest century by a Lucknow Super Giants batter in IPL history against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium.
The Australian all-rounder reached triple figures in stunning fashion, completing his hundred in just 49 balls, smashing 9 boundaries and 9 sixes on the night. The innings left the RCB bowling attack in tatters and propelled LSG towards a commanding total.

Marsh dominated the RCB bowling attack from the outset, helping LSG race towards a massive total despite interruptions caused by rain during the contest.
The knock was made all the more remarkable given the circumstances surrounding the match. Marsh’s explosive innings came at a crucial time for the hosts, who were forced into multiple changes to their playing XI due to injuries to key players including Mohsin Khan and Josh Inglis. LSG brought in Arshin Kulkarni and Shahbaz Ahmed as replacements.
Earlier in the evening, RCB skipper Rajat Patidar had won the toss and opted to bowl first, a decision that would come back to haunt him as Marsh took full advantage of the conditions.
This was not Marsh’s first century in the tournament. His previous IPL hundred came against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad back in 2025. With this record-breaking knock, however, he has firmly cemented his place as one of the most destructive batters in the competition.
