Bangladesh pace bowler Hasan Mahmud is all set to join English county side Kent Cricket Club for the ongoing county season, in what marks a significant milestone for Bangladeshi cricket on the English circuit.

Hasan’s agent, Ihsaan Syed-Hussain, confirmed the development and revealed that the right-arm quick is expected to be available for Kent’s County Championship fixture against Lancashire on June 12.

Hasan collected his sports visa on Monday and now awaits a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board before formally joining the club. He plans to play two four-day fixtures in June, against Lancashire and Middlesex, before linking up with the Bangladesh squad for the Zimbabwe tour.

He is then expected to return to Kent in September for four more four-day matches, giving him a potential total of six county appearances this season.

Hasan, who suffered a tennis elbow injury during the Bangladesh Premier League and missed Bangladesh’s home series against Pakistan, recently travelled to England and practised with Kent under the supervision of head coach Adam Hollioake.

Adding to an already eventful day, Hasan also received a Lanka Premier League draft call-up from Colombo Kaps on June 1, 2026 — the same day his Kent deal was confirmed.

Ihsaan, a British-born individual of Bangladeshi heritage, played a key role in facilitating the deal between Hasan and Kent.

The move is expected to sharpen Hasan’s skills in English conditions ahead of future international assignments.
