India have suffered another injury blow ahead of their upcoming white-ball assignments, with all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy ruled out of both the Ireland and England tours due to an aggravated left quadriceps injury. Suryansh Shedge is expected to be named as his replacement, with a formal BCCI announcement yet to be made at the time of writing.
Reddy had already missed the second ODI against Afghanistan earlier this month due to the same quadriceps complaint. However, the injury has since worsened, ending any hope of him featuring in the two-match T20I series in Ireland or the subsequent tour of England, which includes five T20Is and three ODIs.

The development is a significant setback for the team management. Reddy had been building a strong case for a regular white-ball spot as a seam-bowling all-rounder, and his absence leaves India thin in that department. The blow is compounded by the fact that Hardik Pandya has already been ruled out of both tours, leaving India without their two primary pace-bowling all-round options.
India’s tour of Ireland begins on June 26, with the England T20I series following on July 1 and the ODI leg starting July 14. The BCCI is expected to confirm Shedge’s inclusion in the squad shortly.
