Jharkhand Premier League 2026 Auction: Key Facts

The player auction on May 30 was the foundation of every squad. Here are the headline numbers:

Jharkhand Premier League 2026 Auction
Source: Ranjitrophy
  • Total players in pool: 275
  • Icon category base price: ₹4 lakh (7 players)
  • Category A base price (Senior State Players): ₹75,000
  • Purse per franchise: ₹50 lakh
  • Squad size: 16–18 players per team
  • Highest auction bid: Robin Minz — ₹15.25 lakh (Koylanchal Super Kings)
  • Second highest: Ishan Kishan — ₹14.7 lakh (Santhal Strikers)

The auction’s competitive bidding reflects what is at stake: a debut league that could become Jharkhand’s permanent domestic franchise window, in the same way the T20 Blast has served county cricket in England.

Why the Jharkhand Premier League 2026 Teams Matter Beyond the Trophy

Every squad assembled here carries implications beyond the June 23 final. Jharkhand has produced Dhoni, Ishan Kishan, Robin Minz, and Varun Aaron, yet the state never had a franchise league to develop that pipeline at scale.

The six JPL teams are now the structural bridge between local cricket and the IPL, giving Jharkhand’s emerging talent eight competitive T20 games against quality opposition every season.

The squads built in 2026 set the template for what this competition becomes.
