India clinched the SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship 2026 title with a commanding 4–0 victory over Bangladesh in the final at Pokhara Rangasala, Nepal. 

Fielding a largely U-17 squad under head coach Pamela Conti, India delivered a disciplined, clinical performance to reclaim the regional crown. 

The win capped a strong campaign in which India topped the round-robin stage and emphatically overturned an earlier group-stage defeat to Bangladesh.

India defeated Bangladesh 4–0 in the final played at Pokhara Rangasala. Captain Julan Nongmaithem opened the scoring late in the first half, setting the tone for a dominant display. India added three more goals after the break to put the contest beyond doubt against the defending champions.

Julan Nongmaithem broke the deadlock after linking up with Pritika Barman. Alva Devi Senjam remained influential in the final third and won a penalty, which Elizabed Lakra converted to make it 2–0.

Pearl Fernandes capitalised on high pressing to score India’s third, before Anwita Raghuraman finished a low cross from Senjam late on to complete the 4–0 scoreline.

India’s Tournament Journey and Squad Approach

India entered the final after beating Nepal 1–0 and Bhutan 8–0 in the round-robin stage. The team competed with a U-17 squad as part of preparations for upcoming continental competitions.

The title marked India’s return to the top after two years and also served as revenge for a 0–2 loss to Bangladesh earlier in the tournament.
