India A Women sealed a five-wicket win over Sri Lanka A Women in Semi Final 1 of the ACC Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2026, controlling the contest through disciplined spin and a high-tempo powerplay chase at Terdthai Cricket Ground, Bangkok. 

After Sri Lanka A chose to bat, India A squeezed the middle overs, conceding only 118 in 19.4 overs despite a 36-run opening stand and Sanjana Kavindi’s 31. 

Radha Yadav’s four-wicket burst dismantled the lower order, and her unbeaten 25 off 15 ensured India A closed the chase at 119/5 in just 13.3 overs.

Sri Lanka A began positively, reaching 36 without loss in four overs. Hansima Karunaratne struck 14 off 9 balls, while Sanjana Kavindi anchored the innings with 31 off 35 deliveries, including five fours. However, the tempo dipped once spin was introduced.

Tanuja Kanwer removed Karunaratne and later dismissed Shashini Gimhani, who made 22 off 17 balls with a six and a four. Minnu Mani accounted for Anushka Sanjeewani, and Prema Rawat shifted momentum in the middle overs with 2 wickets, including the stumping of Sanjana Kavindi.

India A’s chase was driven by early acceleration. Vrinda Dinesh dominated the powerplay, scoring 42 off 20 balls with eight boundaries. She and Nandini Kashyap added 26 for the opening wicket before Kashyap was bowled for 13.

Anushka Sharma contributed 27 off 18 balls, striking five fours to keep the run rate above nine per over. Even after quick wickets in the middle phase, the target never escalated beyond control.

Radha Yadav ensured there were no late nerves. She finished unbeaten on 25 off 15 balls, striking four boundaries, and sealed the win with a boundary to deep extra cover in the 14th over. India A reached 119/5 in 13.3 overs, winning by five wickets and progressing to the final.
