Virat Kohli etched his name into yet another chapter of IPL folklore on Friday, smashing his 300th six in the Indian Premier League during the RCB vs Gujarat Titans match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
In doing so, the veteran batter became only the third player in the tournament’s history to reach this landmark.
The milestone came off the bowling of Rashid Khan in the eighth over, as Kohli pulled a half-tracker over deep midwicket. Only Rohit Sharma (310) and Chris Gayle (357) have hit more sixes in IPL history.

The moment was greeted with a deafening roar from the home crowd at Chinnaswamy, fittingly the same ground where Kohli has built so many legends over the years. Coming into the match, Kohli had scored 247 runs in six matches at an average of 49.40 and a strike rate of 157.32, with two half-centuries, underscoring his remarkable form in IPL 2026.
The milestone was not the only record broken on the night. Kohli also brought up his 800th IPL boundary, becoming the first batter ever to reach this landmark. The double feat of twin records in a single innings is testament to the consistency and longevity that have defined Kohli’s IPL career spanning nearly two decades.
Already the IPL’s all-time leading run-scorer with over 8,900 runs from 273 matches, Kohli continues to redefine what is possible in T20 cricket, not merely as a run-machine, but now increasingly as one of the format’s most explosive power-hitters.
As RCB continued their strong title defence in the IPL 2026 Season, Kohli’s 300-six moment will surely be remembered as one of the tournament’s defining highlights this season.
