Jos Buttler leads the The Hundred Men’s Competition most dismissals chart for the 2025 edition with 14 dismissals across 8 innings for Manchester Originals. His 13 catches and 1 stumping outscored Sam Billings (9) and Laurie Evans (6).

This guide ranks every active wicketkeeper by dismissals, breaks down per-innings efficiency, and cross-checks numbers against. Data covers the most recent completed season before the 2026 campaign starts on 21 July 2026 at the Kia Oval.

Notice something odd? Trent Rockets rotated four different keepers in 2025. That rotation tells its own story, and we will get to it below.

Jos Buttler: 14 Dismissals, 8 Games, One Clear Number One

Jos Buttler ended the 2025 edition with 14 dismissals from 8 matches, split into 13 catches and 1 stumping. His 1.75 dismissals per innings is the highest among any keeper who played three or more games.

What makes the number stand out?

  • Buttler was not just keeping. He was captaining and opening the batting for Manchester Originals.
  • He took 3 catches in a single innings on one occasion, matching the edition’s joint best for single-match keeper performance.
  • He has kept in The Hundred since the inaugural 2021 edition, so glove work inside the 100-ball format is not a side project for him.

Across his career, Buttler has recorded 263 dismissals in international cricket, and his short-format experience translates cleanly into The Hundred. Quick reads on nicks, fine leg-side glove work, and alert stumpings tilt the numbers in his favour. With Manchester Originals rebranding as Manchester Super Giants for 2026, his franchise shirt changes, but his hands do not.

Sam Billings Keeps Oval Invincibles Steady

Sam Billings finished second with 9 dismissals in 9 innings for Oval Invincibles, the three-time defending champions. Clean 1.00 dismissals-per-innings ratio. Split: 8 catches and 1 stumping.

Billings took on permanent keeping duty in 2025. His best single innings were 2 catches, repeated across multiple games. Oval Invincibles still won the title, and steady glovework from Billings was part of the story.

Heads up for next season: Oval Invincibles have rebranded as MI London for the 2026 edition after the Mumbai Indians’ ownership acquisition.

Laurie Evans: The Only 3-Dismissal Innings With a Stumping

Laurie Evans picked up 6 dismissals in 7 innings for Southern Brave. Five catches plus one stumping gave him a single-innings best of 3 (2 catches + 1 stumping), the only keeper in 2025 to hit 3 dismissals that included a stumping.

Not bad for a player better known as a middle-order striker than a specialist gloveman. Southern Brave used Tom Albert as a secondary option in one match, where Albert went 2 for 1, a 2.00 dismissals-per-innings rate on his solitary appearance.

Tom Moores: Small Sample, Big Impact

Tom Moores is the most interesting name on the list. He played only 4 matches for Trent Rockets but took 5 dismissals, all catches. His 1.25 per-innings rate is the second best among regular keepers, behind only Buttler.

The catch? Trent Rockets did not give him the full season. Rockets’ keepers were a round robin of Moores (4), OB Cox (3), Tom Banton (2 as keeper out of 10 matches), and Tom Alsop (1). Rotation that heavy rarely helps any of them build rhythm.

Best Dismissals Per Innings: The Efficiency League

Raw totals favour keepers who play more games. The dismissals per innings column flips the lens and rewards efficiency.

  • TE Albert, 2.00 (1 match, 2 catches). One-game sample; pinch of salt.
  • Jos Buttler, 1.75 across 8 innings. The real leader in volume.
  • Tom Moores, 1.25 across 4 innings.
  • Sam Billings, OB Cox, TP Alsop, 1.00 each.

Strip out single-game samples, and Jos Buttler is the clear efficiency leader on top of being the volume leader. That combination has only one realistic comparison in short-format keeping: Buttler’s own international keeping record.

Single Innings Best: Three The Magic Number

Three keepers hit 3 dismissals in a single innings during the 2025 edition of The Hundred Men’s Competition:

  • Jos Buttler, 3 catches
  • Laurie Evans, 2 catches and 1 stumping
  • Tom Moores, 3 catches

No one hit 4 dismissals in a single innings across the 2025 season. The 100-ball format just does not offer enough chances per game for the sort of hoovering-up day Test keepers sometimes produce. For scale: Zimbabwe’s Wayne James once bagged 13 dismissals in a first-class match. Three feels small only until you remember each innings lasts 100 balls.

How the 100-Ball Format Shapes Wicketkeeping

The Hundred gives each side 100 balls per innings. That is 20 fewer than a T20 innings. Less time behind the stumps means a structurally lower ceiling on dismissals.

Three format quirks do the heavy lifting here:

  • Shorter innings. Keepers face roughly 100 balls per innings, not 120.
  • Bowler rotation. The format allows 10-ball blocks and a change of ends after every 10, so keepers constantly readjust.
  • Batter aggression. Big shots fly over slips and fine leg, bypassing the keeper’s chances. Fewer edges. Fewer stumpings.

A typical keeper’s day ends with 1 to 2 dismissals. A 3-dismissal innings is exceptional. A 4-dismissal day has yet to happen in the 2025 season.

Specialist Keepers vs Part-Timers in 2025

Jos Buttler, Sam Billings, Jonny Bairstow, Michael Pepper, Joe Clarke, and Jamie Smith went in as designated keepers. Their innings count matches their matches played.

Laurie Evans kept in 7 of 8 matches for Southern Brave. Tom Moores (4/4), OB Cox (3/3), and Tom Banton (2/10) split Trent Rockets duties. Specialists produced the volume: Buttler, Billings, and Pepper, between them kept for 25 innings and gathered 26 dismissals, basically the entire top of the chart.

Team-by-Team Wicketkeeping Use in 2025

Stable single-keeper setups: Manchester Originals (Buttler), Oval Invincibles (Billings), Birmingham Phoenix (Clarke), Welsh Fire (Bairstow).

Two-keeper setups: Southern Brave (Evans + Albert), London Spirit (Smith + Simpson), Northern Superchargers (Pepper + Lawrence in one match).

Full rotation: Trent Rockets used four different keepers across the season. That is more than any other franchise and probably more than is ideal.

The Hundred 2026 Men’s Competition: What Changes

The 2026 edition runs from 21 July to 16 August 2026 with 34 matches at 8 venues. Three teams have rebranded following new ownership and investment:

  • Oval Invincibles → MI London (Mumbai Indians-owned)
  • Northern Superchargers → Sunrisers Leeds (Sunrisers Hyderabad-owned)
  • Manchester Originals → Manchester Super Giants (Lucknow Super Giants-owned)

Finals Day sits at Lord’s on Sunday, 16 August 2026.

Wicketkeepers to Watch in The Hundred 2026

  • Jos Buttler (Manchester Super Giants): The 2025 leader almost certainly headlines again if fit and available.
  • Sam Billings (MI London): Looking to back up his defending-champion keeping run with another consistent season.
  • Jamie Smith (Southern Brave): Named as a keeping option in the 2026 squad list.
  • Michael Pepper (Southern Brave): One of England’s brightest young keeper-batters.
  • Thomas Rew (Southern Brave): Young Somerset keeper on the squad, one to track in 2026.

Conclusion: Jos Butler Has The Most 14 Dismissals In The Hundred Men’s Competition

Jos Buttler is followed by Sam Billings on 9 and Laurie Evans on 6. Tom Moores posted the best per-innings rate among multi-match keepers at 1.25. The 100-ball format caps what any gloveman can realistically achieve in a single season, so single-figure totals dominate every edition.

With the 2026 edition opening on 21 July 2026 and three franchise rebrands in play, expect new shirts, same familiar keepers, and a fresh leaderboard to follow.
